Standing Seam
Standing seam metal roofs are formed and installed by closing each adjacent seam together with a first and second close. Standing seam panels are usually 18 to 24 inces wide when installed. The panels are attached to the roof by using sliding clips to allow for expansion and contraction.

Slate – All slates are sorted on site by thickness to ensure that they lay down flat and are uniform
Copper Valleys – All valleys are clipped in with copper cleats to allow for expansion and contraction. Tops of the valleys are folded, we do not rely on caulking to keep the building weather tight
Copper Dormers – Dormer roofs are all flat locked copper that extends up onto the slate roof. Be aware of the “step and solder” method, as this breaks down and eventually will fail
Saddle Hips – Hips are installed using a 4 layer system to ensure that the hips are extremly straight and the shingles do not seperate from each other
Low Slope Roof – Double lock copper standing seam is a great option here compared to 2-ply roofing (which is only temporary compared to copper)
Turret Roof – All slates were individually cut in order to follow the curved roof. Alternatively, this roof would also look great with a copper standing seam roof
Copper Finial – Great option to “cap off” the turret roof. Many options available to suit the homeowners personal taste
Copper Chimney Cap – Not just a decorative ornament, but also helps protect the precast chimney from weather
Venting – Copper roof vents should be installed with slate rather than the standard plastic shingle venting
Snow Retention System – Copper snow pads and railings are important in preventing large buildups of ice and snow falling at once
